Hannah J. Flagg, 86, of Nobleboro, passed away on May 21 at Maine Medical Center in Portland with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1926, in Friendship to Frank and Villa Eugley Morse. Growing up in Bath, Friendship, and Waldoboro, she attended local schools graduating from Waldoboro High School.
Finishing school she joined the work force spending time working at the button factory in Waldoboro. After her stint there, she went on to Sylvania where she would work until her retirement. She married Donald Flagg in 1949 and the couple made their home in Jefferson and Waldoboro, and after they had retired, they moved to their home in Nobleboro. Together they would raise three children.
Hannah was a member of a sewing group in North Nobleboro, and it was through her involvement with this group that she became active with the North Nobleboro Day festival. She volunteered for this annual event making crafts for the craft fair and food for the food tent and lending a hand with both booths during the festival.
She enjoyed all kinds of crafts from sewing and quilting to painting. She prided herself on spending time in her garden and yard making sure that they were in pristine condition every spring and summer. She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and was known as a great cook.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald; sisters, Evelyn, Edith, Shirley, and Una; and brothers, Howard and Herbert.
Survivors include her children, James Flagg and wife Dale of Nobleboro, Brian Flagg and wife Holly of Nobleboro, and Susan Lamie and husband Normand of Lewiston; grandchildren, Stefanie Zlomek and husband Marc of Seattle, Wash., Kathryn Adams and husband Ryan of Otisfield, Nathan Lamie and wife Sara of White River Junction, Vt., Kimberly McGregor and husband Phillip of Lewiston, Brandon Flagg of Nobleboro, and Allison Flagg of Nobleboro; step-grandchildren, Libby Miner and husband Paul of Nobleboro, Anna Kennedy of Rochester, N.Y., and Benjamin Kennedy of South Portland; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Adams, Aidan Adams, Avah Lamie, and Kody McGregor; step-great-grandchildren, Emma McGregor, Austin McGregor, and Patrick Miner; sisters, Celia Carlton of Damariscotta, and Mary Winchenbach of Waldoboro.
A private family service will be held at the Flagg Cemetery in Nobleboro at a later date.
