Harold A. Steer, 69, of Walpole, passed away on Dec. 1 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, after a long illness. Born in Damariscotta on Oct. 28, 1943, he was the son of Harold E. and Martha Little Steer.
Harold graduated from Bristol High School in 1962, and just enjoyed his 50th class reunion this summer. Upon his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge, he lived and worked in New Hampshire for many years. About 10 years ago, he moved back to Walpole, where he was living at the time of his death.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John Steer in 1967.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Cassidy; sons, Matthew and Michael; step-children, Heidi, Michael, Kellie-Marie and Martie; brother, Roger and wife Carolyn; aunt, Bethiah Callahan; step-grandchildren, Kyle, Felishia, Tayler-Marie, Damion, Makayla and James; three nephews; and many cousins.
At his request, there will be no service.
