Harold “Cappy” Maynard Jameson, 86, passed away Aug. 6 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Harold was born July 9, 1920 in Friendship, the son of Albert and Bertha Cook Jameson.
After graduating from Thomaston High School, he began his career on the ocean where he spent all of his life, clamming and lobstering. Cappy took a break from fishing and lobstering during WWII, working at a Rockland Shipyard until the end of the war. In the early 80’s he retired from fishing but continued clamming, for something to keep him busy.
He enjoyed his daily meeting with friends at Fales store in Cushing; often found visiting the store up to three times a day keeping up on the local news and events, not wanting to miss anything.
Cappy enjoyed visits from his friends and loved spending time with his son and family.
Survivors include his son, Bruce Jameson and wife Sharon of Union; grandchildren, Patrick Jameson of Lewiston, Christopher Jameson of Waldoboro, Gregory Peaslee of Greene, and Melissa Villano of Union; and eight great-grandchildren.
