Harold Royal Heath Jr., 58, of Whitefield, died suddenly at his residence Aug. 26.
Harold was born May 13, 1948 in Portland, the son of Harold R. and Dorothy Weaver Heath, Sr. and attended Governor Baxter School for the Deaf in Portland.
Harold began his working career with Augusta Cotton Mill and later worked for Bath Iron Works, where he was injured in his younger years and left on disability. He kept busy assisting friends with projects, plowing driveways during the winter, and small projects during the summer.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and could always be seen driving around town in his black Chevrolet with his driving companions, Midgey and Kiki.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Cindy, of Whitefield; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Heath McLaughlin and husband Dan of Readfield; step-granddaughter, Katelyn McLaughlin of Winthrop; brother, Elmer S. Heath of Jefferson; many step-brothers and step-sisters; five very special nephews, with whom he loved spending time, Matthew Basinet, Reggie Brann, and Devan Basinet, all of Jefferson, and Tyler Prock and Codey Prock, both of Waldoboro; mother-in-law, Rosalie Basinet of Jefferson; brothers-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Basinet of Jefferson, and Greg and Lori Basinet of Canaan; sisters-in-law, Michelle and Eric Prock of Waldoboro, and Debbie and Scott Bailey of Jefferson; dogs, Midgey and Kiki; and cats, Squeeky and Sheena.
Memorial visiting hours 2-4 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 31 at Hall Funeral Home, Main St., Waldoboro with Rev. Fred Irving offering prayers at 3:30 p.m.
