Harriet L. Hopkins, 98, formerly of Belmont, Mass., passed away on Aug. 28 at The Lincoln Home in Newcastle, where she had resided for the last three years.
Harriet was born in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Charles S. and Louise (Loftus) Hopkins.
Ms. Hopkins was a graduate of Boston University with a BBA in accounting and a member of Beta Sigma Gamma. She was employed by various accounting firms in the greater Boston area during her long career.
Harriet’s love of travel took her on many tours throughout the United States, as well as Europe and Asia. She was an avid reader of historical novels, mysteries and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Buchtrup; and nephew, Charles S. Hopkins of Wakefield, Mass. and Bremen.
Harriet is survived by her niece, Constance Bartlett and husband Herbert of Bremen; nephew, Charles S. Buchtrup and wife Kathy of Fairfield, Tenn.; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest privately in Littleton, N.H.
