Harry P. Hildebrandt, 91, of Nobleboro, passed away on April 29 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center, Brunswick. He was born in Steinan, Germany, coming to Nobleboro 77 years ago from New York City, N.Y.
He was educated at Lincoln Academy, where he was on the debate team and excelled in track and field. He graduated class valedictorian in 1939, and received his Bachelors Degree from Colby College.
He was a WWII veteran, serving as meteorologist in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946.
Before retiring, he was a high school Guidance Director at Wiscasset High School, Falmouth High School and Lincoln Academy.
He was predeceased by his wife, the “love of his life,” Lorraine.
He is survived by daughter, Storm von Hildebrandt of Bristol.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta.
