Helen F. Vierling, 96, of Damariscotta, born in Hackensack, N.J. on Feb. 11, 1914, passed away in the early hours of Sept. 14 at her home.
The youngest, and last surviving, of six children, Helen grew up in New Jersey where she married her husband George in 1937. They moved to Damariscotta in 1973 from South Salem, N.Y. where she was an active Girl Scout leader and PTA member. Helen always delighted in putting on a great party or bridge game, and welcoming family and friends into her home.
She is survived, and much loved, by two daughters, Marion Mullinder of Woolwich and Christine Beach of Gorham; son, David and wife Carol of Colorado Springs, Col.; grandsons, Lee and Timothy Vierling and Ian and Brett Mullinder; and two great-granddaughters, Tia and Kira Vierling.
