Henry Raymond Bond, 91, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Jefferson, passed away March 17 at Salerno Bay Nursing Home in Stuart, Fla. Ray was born in Jefferson, a son of H. Prescott and L. Marie Hodgkins Bond. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson for 79 years.
Prior to retirement he was a boat builder who owned and operated Ray Bond Boats, whose principal product was the Cuda Craft Boat. During WWII he worked at the Miami Ship Yards making boats for the US Government.
Ray was predeceased by his son, H. Raymond “Rusty” Bond and a brother, Clifton Bond.
Survivors include his wife, Ada Bond, of Stuart, Fla.; sons, Del Bond of Spring City, Tenn. and Lindsey Bond of Stuart, Fla.; brother, Ralph Bond and wife, Priscilla, of Jefferson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Village Cemetery in Jefferson, at a date and time to be announced.
