Herbert Douglas Holloway, 92, of Gardiner, and formerly of Edgecomb, passed away March 11 at the VA Medical Center Togus. He was born in Kingfield on June 19, 1915, a son of Harry and Sarah Douglas Holloway.
Herbert was a major in the US Army during WWII, serving in France. He graduated from Farmington Normal School and had been employed for the State of Maine.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Muriel Dinsmore Holloway of Gardiner; and two daughters, Catherine Muriel Holloway of Augusta and Elizabeth Frederick of Surry.
Spring burial will be in Kingfield.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
