Hollis Clinton Tedford III, 59, of Waldoboro, died peacefully on March 24 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 19, 1950 in Milford, Conn., a son of Hollis C. Jr. and E. Marie (McPherson) Tedford.
Hollis was a naturalist, athlete and music lover. He was also a serious collector of viewmasters. Hollis was a “character” with special charm and an irreverent sense of humor. Children loved him because of his playful nature and genuine enthusiasm for their interests.
He was predeceased by his father, Bud and brother, Barry.
Hollis is survived by wife Sara Gilfenbaum; children, Ana and Teddy; mother, Marie; brother, Stewart; sister-in-law, Katharyne and their children Ethan and Cate; sister-in-law, Gin and Brandon Tedford, and Elizabeth and Rick Tedford Gerhig; many close friends including Birch, Louise and Albert Craig, Steve, Pat, Kieran, Tess and Lily Finnegan-Allen, Richard, Shelley, Justin and Hilary Cohen Konrad; and the Seaver, Hassett and Beaudoin families.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his family for a celebration of Hollis’ life 2 p.m., Sat., April 17 at St. Paul Chapel, Dutch Neck Rd., Waldoboro.
