Jack Michael Barlow, 62, of Dresden, died from natural causes Feb. 1. He was born in Jasper County, Mo. on Sept. 9, 1950, one of four siblings, two of which are living: Sharon Piilani and Max Barlow. At the age of 17 before graduating high school, he served as a full-time minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses and did so for many years. This was one of the most important things in life to him.
On Sept. 24, 1972, he married Sharon A. Herbelin of Waco, Tex. and they built their life together. He was known for his wonderful smile (he was called Smiling Jack). He loved being with his family and truly enjoyed his grandchildren and loved music. He was a sincere and giving person and would literally give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He had the biggest heart and was an emotional teddy bear. He was always there for his family and friends no matter what the circumstances. Most important to him, he served Jehovah God faithfully throughout and to the end of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon; children, Jennifer and husband Jason, and Pamela and husband Micah; and grandchildren, Javon and Jada.
Celebration of his life 4:30 p.m., Sun., Feb. 10 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 6 Station Rd., Newcastle.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
