James A. Cook Jr., 85, of Damariscotta, formerly of North Hampton and Beverly, Mass., passed away at his home on March 20. Born in Marblehead, Mass. on March 3, 1927, he was the son of James Sr. and Hildur (Enlind) Cook.
Mr. Cook grew up in Marblehead, Mass. and was a graduate of Marblehead High School, as well as M.I.T. where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. He also served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
For many years he was the CEO and President of Cook Packing and Rubber Company of North Hampton, Mass., and also served as Sales Manager for Sylvania Lighting’s New England Division.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Nancy (Gebow) Cook; as well as sisters, Mary Harris and Susan Hadley.
He is survived by a niece, Elizabeth Hadley Wilson of Plymouth, N.H.; nephews, James Hadley of Vermont, James Harris of Marblehead, Mass., and William Harris of Seekonk, Mass.; as well as a great-nephew, Scott Harris of Woodside, Queens, N.Y.
