James “BJ” Fitzpatrick, 69, passed away peacefully in the wee morning hours of Nov. 21, 2019, at the LincolnHealth – Miles Campus, with his twin sisters by his side. He was born July 11, 1950, in Damariscotta, the third child of John and June (Reilly) Fitzpatrick.
BJ had a light and loving spirit… he was an Irish rebel, feisty and fiery, a man of adventure and a big kid at heart. BJ, like his mother, was the pied piper of children; you could find him leading his many nieces and nephews on fun-filled adventures. His smile and infectious laughter and endless generosity will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and June Fitzpatrick; and brother, Kevin.
He leaves his family, Melissa Burnham and her husband Larry, son, Justin and daughter Desiree; Jack Fitzpatrick, daughter, Jennessa; eldest nephew, Joshua Fitzpatrick (son of Kevin); Junie Fitzpatrick, son James and daughters Jade and Jena; Melinda Fitzpatrick, daughters Jaime and Jazmin; Kerry Fitzpatrick, daughters Nicole, and Stephanie, and son Travis. Committed, loving life-partner, Lori Benner; and Ethan Genthner, his shotgun side-kick, partner in crime and forever friend.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post #42, 527 Main St., Damariscotta.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Condolences, and messages for his family, may be expressed by visiting StrongHancock.com.
