James Healey, 63, of Winter Haven, Fla., passed away in Ft. Myers on June 30 as the result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. Born on May 27, 1946, he was the son of Ernest and Francia “Polly” Berce.
Born in New Haven, Conn., James grew up in Damariscotta before moving to Florida many years ago. While in Florida, he made a long career of driving trucks throughout several states. He adored children and enjoyed playing many different kinds of games on his computer.
He was predeceased by his parents, as well as three brothers, William Healey, Raymond Chester Healey, and Ernest Berce, Jr.
He is survived by his three children, Heather Carter and husband Stephen of Massachusetts, Melissa Fye and husband Tim of Michigan, and Scott Healey of Massachusetts; three sisters, Rebecca Maxwell of Waldoboro, Anita May of Waldoboro, and Roberta Delano of Friendship; brother, Thomas Berce of Belfast; sister-in-law, Brenda Healey of Randolph; his best friend, Bill of Winter Haven, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Service 12 p.m., Thurs., July 16 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
He will laid to rest with his parents at the Highland Cemetery in Nobleboro.
