James R. Sirois, 66, passed away after a five-year struggle with Alzheimer’s on Nov. 21 at Hill House Assisted Living in Bath.
James, formerly of Wichert, Ill., taught in the Chicago public school system for over 30 years and started the fine arts program in 1979 at the Franklin Fine Arts Center, where he taught piano to elementary students until his retirement in 2005. He was a graduate of St. Anne High School and the University of Illinois, Champaign, with his Masters Degree.
Preceding him in death was his father, Roger Sirois.
He is survived by his mother, Lorene M. Sirois; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Gerald McTaggart of Chillicothe, Ill. and Judy and Chuck Reeves of Westport Island; three nephews; and two nieces.
Mass will be said 8 a.m., Fri., Dec. 17 at St. Mary’s in Bath.
