James Timko, 71, of Whitefield, died Aug. 19 at home.
He was born in Rahway, N.J. in 1936 and lived most of his life in New Jersey.
He worked in sales for many years, retiring to Maine about 10 years ago. He worked part-time at the Alna Post Office.
A communicant at the St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life he loved singing and was a member of several choirs.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Helen; daughter, Louise; sons, James, Joseph, Thomas, and Theodore; and four grandchildren.
Service 11 a.m., Fri., Aug. 24 at St. Denis Church, Whitefield with Father Ralph Boisvert officiating.
