James W. Bradley, 80, of Washington, died unexpectedly on May 14 at his home. He was born in Freeport on July 12, 1932, the son of Arthur Bradley and Martha (Black) Bradley.
Mr. Bradley served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a security guard by Maine Yankee. He was previously self-employed as a fisherman of lobster, sardines and herring for many years.
He and his wife, Judith, also owned the Crooked Creek Farm, raising African goats for several years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman and was involved with horse racing for a time.
Surviving are his wife, Judith (Orne) Bradley of Washington; son, Alvin Orne of South Paris; daughter, Linda Bradley Hezik of Nobleboro; brother, Robert Bradley of Boothbay Harbor; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no planned visiting hours and or service.
