Jane Marguerite Foster Miller, 78, of Vero Beach, Fla., died Sept. 6 in Vero Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Miller was born June 25, 1929 in Orange, N.J. and moved to Vero Beach in 1984 from Short Hills, N.J.
She was a graduate of Kent Place School and Centenary Junior College and worked as a nursery school teacher, most recently at The Elkwood Play School in Summit, N.J.
Mrs. Miller was a member of The Willing Workers of New Harbor and the New Harbor United Methodist Church, where she served the poor and the hungry in the soup kitchen.
Throughout her life, she cared for young children and elderly widows who were left alone. She helped and served whenever she could without expecting anything in return.
She loved to have fun and had a tender heart, especially for those she loved the most: family, friends and neighbors.
She loved the outdoors, taking walks, tending her flower garden, picnics, bird watching, crossword puzzles and the fresh Maine sea air.
She supported her churches in New Harbor and Vero Beach, Fla. and loved God. She had a loving heart and an infectious smile. She was loved by and loved everyone she met.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, David B. Miller of Vero Beach, Fla.; sons, Hyde F. Miller of Indialantic, Fla. and David Byron Miller, Jr. of Los Altos, Cal.; and three grandchildren.
