Jane Napier Blake, 82, of Jefferson and formerly of Hamden, Conn., passed away Sept. 1 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born May 26, 1924 in Greenwich, Conn., a daughter of James D. Napier, Sr. and Caroline Wincapaw Napier. She graduated from Hampden High School in Hamden, Conn.
She married Warren Edward Blake on May 4, 1946. They made their home in Hamden, Conn. for 34 years. During those years they summered in Friendship and Jefferson and in 1980, they retired to Jefferson.
Jane was a member of Clan Napier in North America, and a member and office holder in St. Andrews Society of Maine. Jane’s uncle, Will Wincapaw, was the first “Flying Santa” delivering Christmas presents to Maine lighthouses.
She was predeceased by a brother, James Napier, formerly of Hollywood, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Warren E. Blake of Jefferson; sons, Robert of Jefferson, Bradford of Danbury, Conn., and David and wife Jennifer of Williamsburg, Va.; grandchildren, Robinson and wife Jessica of Fairfax, Va. and Megan of Williamsburg, Va.; step-grandson, Joseph Walker of Williamsburg, Va.; sister, Carolyn McCauley of Sun City, Fla.; and three nieces and their husbands and children.
Graveside service 10 a.m., Wed., Sept. 6 at Fairview Cemetery in Jefferson.
