Jane Page Wells, 91, of Damariscotta, died Dec. 29, 2011 at Miles Memorial Hospital. She was born in Newcastle on Sept. 23, 1920, the daughter of Gladys Keyes Page and Harold O. Page.
Jane graduated from Lincoln Academy and the University of Maine at Orono. She married James Doring Wells of Quincy, Mass. in January of 1944. Jane loved having her family around her, was an avid reader and loyal follower of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics. She enjoyed music, particularly jazz.
She was predeceased by her brother, Robert H. Page and sister, Ann Page Haggett.
She is survived by daughters, Susan Wells Ferrante of Marblehead, Mass., and Nancy Wells Silvester and husband Robert of Natick, Mass.; grandsons, Mark Wells Ferrante and wife Heidi, James Robert Ferrante, Adam Keyes Ferrante, and Matthew Robert Silvester; granddaughter, Jennifer Page Silvester and husband Seth; great-grandchildren, Emma Page Ferrante, Isabelle Jane Ferrante, Sadie Fox Jacobs, Taylor Jane Ferrante and Jackson Wells Jacobs; adored nieces and nephews, Barbara Sewall and husband Douglas, Daniel J. Haggett, Gail E. Page, Robert R. Page, David H. Page, all of whom she thought of as her own; and loving caregivers, Marcia Mortimer, Karen Benner, Kerrilyn Lincoln, and Alicia Oliver.
Funeral services 11 a.m., Tues., Jan. 3 at the Second Congregational Church in Newcastle.
