Jason H. Williams, 36, of Waldoboro, died unexpectedly Jan. 6 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Born Sept. 14, 1972 in Camden, he was the son of Bruce Williams and Judith Totman.
Jason attended local schools, including Medomak Valley High School.
For most of his life Jason worked as a fisherman. Over the years he was a lobsterman, went shrimping and most recently a commercial fisherman.
Jason was proud to have been a personal care aid at Seven Tree Manor in Union.
Born with an adventurous spirit, it wasn’t unusual for Jason to move a shed across the lawn by rolling it on logs, or to hike for miles with a kayak just to find the perfect paddling spot. He also enjoyed camping, visiting all of the state parks in Maine, and camping at Beaver Lodge for two summers. He loved the outdoors and took great pleasure in ice fishing, canoeing, and kayaking.
He also enjoyed watching the Discovery Channel and History Channel. Even when he was asleep on the couch, if anyone tried to change the channel, he would wake up and make them change it back.
Jason was a kind and giving individual who would give you the shirt off his back. Jason found it amusing that his physical appearance, large stature and tattoos often gave people the wrong impression of him when he was just trying to lend a hand.
Jason was predeceased by his father; grandparents, Juanita and Patrick McGinnis, Clayton and Caroline Totman, and Linwood and Joann Williams; and brother, Kenneth “K.C.” Carter in 2008.
Jason is survived by his mother, Judy Carter of Waldoboro; children, Andrew “Drew” Williams, Brittany Williams, and Mikayla Williams all of Warren; brothers, Daniel Scott Williams and companion Karen Towers of Waldoboro, and Chad Michael Wales and companion Olivia Gamage of Rockland; half-sister, Jennifer Williams of Germany; his companion, Shari Withee and her daughter Kayla of Owls Head; the mother of his children, Victoria Cook of Warren; nieces and nephew, Katrina and Abigail Williams, Owen Wales and Jillian Gamage; as well as several aunts and uncles.
