Jason S. Cunningham, 33, of Waldoboro, passed away at his home on the evening of Jan. 22. Born in Belfast on Jan. 16, 1976, he was the son of Rodney and Frances (Turner) Cunningham.
Jason grew up in Nobleboro, and graduated from Nobleboro Central School in 1990 and attended Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. After school, with his childhood friend Von, he worked various jobs including landscaping and painting. He later worked in recycling with another good friend, Maynard.
He loved nature and particularly enjoyed fishing. He was an avid football and baseball fan and always cheered on the Patriots and Red Sox with his brother Rod. He was known for his sense of humor and always being the comedian.
Jason was predeceased by his four grandparents.
He is survived by his two children, Alyssa and Von Cunningham; mother, Frances Cunningham of Damariscotta; father, Rodney Cunningham of Portland; siblings, Charlie Christianson and wife Diane, Susan and husband Ed Fuller, Brett Christianson, Lisa and husband Calvin Lewis, Jill and husband Butch Chamberlain, Pam and husband Mark Fenderson, Sandy and husband Sumner Webber, Rod and wife Chastity Cunningham, and Mandy and Clifton Chapman; girlfriend, Amber; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gathering of family and friends 3-5 p.m., Fri., Jan. 30 at the Strong Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta with a service following.
