Jaswin Murphy Camber, 73, of Thomaston, passed away April 6 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport after a brief illness.
Jaswin was born Sept. 12, 1934 in Friendship, the daughter of the late Everett and Laura Benner Murphy and the granddaughter of the late Charles and Lilly Murphy.
Jaswin grew up in Friendship and she attended the Friendship school through the eighth grade. She attended Sunday School and was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Friendship.
She worked for several years in local fish factories where she made many friends.
Her first love was bingo and playing cards, going out to eat and shopping with many friends and family.
Survivors include her cousins, Alfred Stanley and wife Dorothy of Rockland, Sherm Stanley and wife Barbara of Monhegan Island, Theo Wanda Knowles and husband Donald of Friendship, Virginia Crute and husband Doug of Owls Head, and Enid Dana and husband John of Thomaston; great-aunt, Charlotte Monroe of Thomaston; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and very special friend, Evelyn Fenderson, of the Rocky Coast Apts. in Thomaston and her extended family of friends there.
Graveside service 12 p.m., Thurs., April 17 the Village Cemetery in Friendship with Pastor Chamberlain officiating.
