Jean C. Mosier Wallace, 68, a lifelong resident of Westport Island, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of June 22. Born in her family home on Dec. 24, 1946, she was the daughter of Harvey and Rena (Colby) Mosier.
Jean attended a one room school house on Westport Island and graduated from Morse High School in Bath. She transported kindergarten and special education children from Westport and surrounding towns from 1977 to 2001.
She later worked as a CRMA at Hodgdon Green in Damariscotta until her retirement in 2012. Jean was always there to give someone a helping hand or a ride, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald E. Wallace; and brothers, Melvyn, Frank, Richard, Russell, and her twin, John.
She is survived by her son, John R. Wallace and wife Michelle Chartier of Westport Island; daughter, Joanna R. Wallace and husband David Lehman of Westport Island; brothers, Robert H. Mosier and wife Suke, and Herbert E. Mosier and wife Elodia of North Carolina; sisters, Helen L. Delano and husband Douglas of Westport Island, Anna Mosier of Mexico, and Marylyn Bailey and husband David of Woolwich; grandson, Phyllip Wallace of Westport Island; step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jean will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A public memorial service will be held at a later date, and details will be announced.
