Jean Marie Lopez, 63, formerly of Boothbay Harbor, died July 29 at Coves Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta. She was born Aug. 11, 1942 in Auburn, a daughter of Reginald Garcelon and Margaret McKay Garcelon. Jean grew up in Southport, moved to Florida, and later moved back to Maine.
She was a housekeeper for many years, working at Captain Fish’s Motel, Fisherman’s Wharf, Tugboat Inn, Everybody’s Restaurant, Boothbay Harbor Inn and Twin Rivers. She later worked at a wood factory in Nobleboro making cabinets.
She enjoyed picture puzzles, watching videos, going to the beach, and playing cards. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, always looking after her family. She was well liked at Coves Edge and will be missed.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Bailey, and her father, Reginald Garcelon.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Keller of Nobleboro, Michael Keller of Pittston, and Pedro Lopez of Lewiston; mother, Margaret Reichman of Tamarac, Fla.; sisters, Judy Parker and husband Robert of Tamarac, Fla., and Nancy King and husband Jim of Ramona, Cal.; grandchildren, Kerri-anne Keller of Nobleboro, Christopher Keller of Nobleboro, Julie Arbour of Whitefield, Jennifer Gillison of Lake Wales, Fla., and David Gillison of Bath; great grandchildren, Lilly Potter of Union, Mark Arbour of Whitefield, and Makayla Gillison of Lake Wales, Fla.
A private graveside service will be held at the Alna Cemetery in Alna.
