Jeanette E. Hatch, 67, of Northport, died Jan. 5 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor surrounded by her loving family after a period of failing health.
Jeanette was born Nov. 15, 1942 in Bucksport, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and A. Evelyn (Boss’ie) Johnson. She grew up in Bucksport and attended local schools.
She was a very thoughtful, loving person who always put the needs of others above herself. Jeanette was a homemaker and was employed for many years at the former Penobscot Poultry plant and then the Bradbury-Harbor Hill Nursing Home in Belfast. She loved to knit, sew, read, sing, play cards and spend time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Verley Warren of Northport.
In addition to her husband of 47 years Robert N. Hatch of Northport, Jeanette is survived by her sister, Sheila Connor of Camden; brothers, Marc Johnson of Florida, and Brian Johnson and wife Preil of Bucksport; sons, Robert Hatch and companion Deloris of Swanville, Brian Hatch and wife Debbie of New Hampshire, Roy Hatch and wife Laura of Waldoboro, and Richard Hatch and wife Amy of Canton; daughter, Lisa and companion David of Belfast; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Jeanette’s life 12-4 p.m., Sun., Jan. 10 at the Belfast VFW, 34 Field St. in Belfast. Spring interment will in the family lot in Bucksport.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smeltzer Family Cremation and Funeral Service in Waldoboro.
