Jeffrey D. Delano, 53, of Dresden, passed away on July 8 surrounded by his loving wife and daughter after a courageous, seven year long battle with cancer.
Jeffrey was born in Damariscotta on Nov. 7, 1956 to parents Arthur and Madeline Delano. He attended school in Wiscasset, graduating in 1975. He was a Boy Scout leader and loved the outdoors, particularly fishing, grilling and farming. He was employed by BIW for over 30 years as a pipecoverer. Jeffrey was married to Debra L. Delano on Dec. 31, 1991.
Jeffrey is predeceased by his father, Arthur; mother Madeline; brothers, George and Kenny; and sister, Marjorie.
He is survived by his loving wife Debra of 18 years, daughter, Angelique Delano; grandsons, Gavin and Mason Clark, all of Alna; step son, Jeramey and wife Erin Reed of Wiscasset, son, Keith, wife Cindy and grandsons, Hunter and Tyler Delano, all of Vermont; siblings Arthur Jr., and wife Peggy Delano, Robert Delano, Lloyd Delano and companion Toni, Wendall Delano and companion Paula, Richard and wife Karen Delano, Nancy and husband Mylan Morton, Martha Delano, Polly Webber, Linda Delano, all of Wiscasset, Dana and wife Bonnie Delano, Peggy and husband Richard Creamer, all of Dresden, and Dean and wife Nora Delano of San Diego, Cal.; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life in Jeffrey’s honor will be held for friends and family 1-4 p.m., Sun., July 25 at the Bath Legion Hall on Congress Ave.
