Jeffrey H. Sprague “Born To Be Wild,” 53, of Somerville, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 23. He was born in Damariscotta on Feb. 24, 1958, the son of the late Earl Sprague and Eleanor Lessner York.
His working career began in the woods while working for Barry Miller. His love for the woods continued while working for F.E. Peaslee Forest Products for eight years. For the past 18 years, he was currently employed by D.R. Flagg Forest Products.
Jeff loved NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale, Jr. He also enjoyed music, carpentry work, and the coast of Maine, especially Pemaquid Point Lighthouse; but more than anything, he loved to spend time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his loving son, Frank Sprague and wife Angela and daughter, Emily of Jefferson; brothers, Jody and wife Leisa Sprague of Damariscotta, James Sprague of Nobleboro and John Sprague of Damariscotta; sister, Jean Sprague Mancini of Portland; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Time to visit with the family 3-5 p.m., Fri., Sept. 2 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. A private graveside service will be held for the family.
