Jennie S. Martin, 82, of Jefferson and South Paris, passed away April 22 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.
Mrs. Martin was born July 5, 1924 in Waldoboro, the daughter of Charles and Mary S. Graffam Sprague. She attended Waldoboro High School.
She married Emmons A. Martin, Sr. in 1942. Mrs. Martin was employed by Dr. Ridlon as a dental assistant. When they began their family, she stayed home to raise her children. She then began work with Medomak Canning in its quality control division for 11 years. After the death of her husband, she operated a boarding home out of her house for five years.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Lakeview Chapter #179, Order of the Eastern Star, and was known as a hard worker and deeply loved her family and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, Emmons A. Martin Sr., and a brother, William Sprague.
Survivors include two sons, Emmons A. Martin, Jr. and wife Maria of Waldoboro; and Charles Martin and wife Ann of Jefferson; daughters, Sally Arsenault and husband Dale of Jefferson, and Suzette Morang and husband Ron of Pittston; her beloved companion of 21 years, Charles “Louie” Morse of South Paris; sister, Helen Tukey and companion Roger Prior of Waldoboro, half-brother, Paul Levensaller of Jefferson; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loving cat, Bubba.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Wed., April 25 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
Celebration of her Life 11 a.m., Thurs., April 26 at Hall Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Jefferson.
