Jesse Corinne Benner, “Nannie,” 92, passed away the evening of April 28 surrounded by her loving family.
Corinne was born March 28, 1920, daughter of Jesse T. Hoffman and Lilla Hoffman of Bristol.
Corinne enjoyed raising her 14 children with her husband Carroll of 65 years. She was known for her incredible baking of sweet treats, including homemade jams, pickles and donuts. Saturday night was “bean night” at her home in New Harbor, where friends and family were always welcomed for homemade beans and biscuits. However, her greatest pride was spending time with her loving husband and family. She enjoyed family gatherings and functions, with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of which brought great joy to her life.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Carroll; son, Arnold; daughter, Gretchen; sons-in-law, Elliot Dodge and Jerry Farrin; and grandson, Jerry Farrin Jr.
Corinne is survived by her children, Allen Benner, wife Lillian and their children Darrell, Dexter, Devin and Denise; Terri Dodge and children Elliot Jr., Vincent and Gretta; daughter-in-law, Sue Ellen, her sons Arnie Jr., Brent and Curt; Stanley Benner, wife Pat and their children Marissa and Jillian; Lilla Farrin and her son Gary; Carol Faye Prentice, husband James and their son Michael; Colleen Poland, husband Ernest and son Joshua; Lori Benner and fiancé David; Jane Benner, fiancé Hugh Williams and their son Page; James C. Benner Jr. and fiancée Deborah and their children Leah, Amanda and Jessica; DeeDee Geyer, husband Benji and their children Cortney and Tyler; Corinne Storer, husband Ronald and their children Jessica and Ronald Jr.; Lisa Benner and companion Troy; very special sister, Ollie York; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Service to honor the memory of Corinne Jesse Benner 2 p.m., Thurs., May 3 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta, with Rev. Richard Newell officiating. She will be laid to rest in the New Harbor Cemetery.
