Joan Clark Stover, 73, a life-long Appleton resident, died peacefully at her home July 5.
Joan Stover was the last of nine children and grew up in Appleton, attended local schools and graduated from Appleton High School. She started working at GTE Sylvania in 1961 as a coil line inspector and retired from there in 1994 after 33 years with the company. Joan enjoyed her time with the Sylvania Breakfast Club and attended the Waldoboro Baptist Church. She cherished her time taking care of her family and spending time with her great grandson. She loved to camp, travel and go on boat rides. She loved her pet birds, rabbits and all animals.
Mrs. Stover is predeceased by her daughter, Ginger Wilson in 2002 and her eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years Robert Stover of Appleton; granddaughter, Jaime Aldus of Montville; grandsons, PV2 Brian Aldus and Jacob Aldus of Searsmont; great-grandson, Donovan Aldus of Montville; stepsons, Michael Stover of Waldoboro and Lionel Stover of Warren; stepdaughters, Marie Gifford of Waldoboro, Robin Jenkins of Oxford, April Murray of Warren and Karla Vannah of Waldoboro; son-in-law, James and Bonnie Aldus of Searsmont; sister-in-law, Audrey Wiley of Appleton; and many nieces and nephews.
The private graveside service will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton.
