Joan Florence Brewer-Greenleaf, 68, of Southport, passed away on March 14 after a brief illness.
Joan was born in Bath on March 23, 1942, the daughter of Alvin G. and Manela Coffin Brewer of Southport.
Joan grew up in Sebasco and attended Morse High School in Bath. She met and married Richard Berry who was in the Army while stationed in Brunswick. They traveled abroad.
Joan was an avid reader, accomplished cook and seamstress. She especially loved working as Head Librarian at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and enjoyed spending time during the colder months in Florida.
She is predeceased by her father, Alvin G. Brewer; brother, Kirke Read; infant sister; husband, Richard L. Berry; and infant son, Eric Berry.
Survivors include her mother, Manela F. Brewer of Southport; daughter, Kelli L. Magnus of Sparta, Wis.; sons, Breton L. Berry of Boothbay and Kent L. Berry of Southport; brother, Alvin “Buddy” Brewer Jr.; sister, Lucille Cora Brewer of Phippsburg; many grandchildren; family; friends; special cousin, Josephine York of West Point; and special friend Ronnie Anderson of Illinois; and pets, Toby, Brandie and Trinket.
A small private service will be held at a later date.
