Joan Huntley Cushing, 80, of New Harbor, passed away peacefully on Feb. 16.
She was the daughter of Fred and Gretchen (Hanna) Huntley. Joan was born on Nov. 28, 1928. She married Douglas R. Cushing on July 31, 1946. They were married for 62 years at the time of her death.
Joan was a wonderful wife, mom, and grandmother to her husband and children and grandchild Kristi. Her devotion to her home and family were legendary. She was happiest keeping a sparkling house and working in her garden.
Surviving are her son, George and wife Sheri of Whitefield; daughter, Marynette Pinkham and husband Duane of Boothbay Harbor; beloved granddaughter, Kristi Poole also of Boothbay Harbor; many cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of her life will be held at a date to be announced.
