Joan (Pinkham) Creamer went to be with the Lord on Nov. 20, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1933 in Kingfield, the daughter of Lila Pearl Pinkham and the late Albion Pinkham. She attended local schools in Edgecomb and was a graduate of Lincoln Academy, class of 1951.
After graduation, she married her lifelong friend, Perley (Jake) Creamer, Jr. The couple resided in the Newcastle and Damariscotta area for the rest of their lives.
Joan was employed by Yellowfront Grocery in the early years of their marriage, and later started her own donut-making business for many years known as “Joan’s Donuts.” She also worked with her loving husband, performing janitorial work at local businesses. Joan finished her working years at the Tugboat Inn in Boothbay Harbor.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Perley (Jake) Creamer, Jr. Jake and Joan had a true love story marriage from their beginning until the end. Joan was a great wife, mother, and friend to all of us. She is also survived by her mother, Lila (Pearl) Pinkham of Newcastle; children, Terri Geroux and husband Herb of Newcastle, Mark Creamer and wife Kim of Damariscotta, and Kathleen Creamer of Damariscotta; special grandson, Cameron M. Creamer; step-grandson, Jacob Snyder; step-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Merissa Look; and sister, Joyce (Pinkham) Tuttle of Nobleboro.
Joan loved life and made the most out of every moment. She enjoyed playing softball with all her friends in the Sheepscot area, and playing cards with her close friends and family members. Joan took up listening and watching gospel music and videos with her husband and playing late night games of Tetris. She also enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her grandson, Cameron.
