JoAnn Garland Pearce, 76, died June 18 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H., after a long illness.
Mrs. Pearce was born Nov. 28, 1934 in Whitefield, N.H. She was the daughter of Frank and Virginia Glidden Garland.
JoAnn cared for her family in the early years and then became a Stanley home product sales person for years. She also worked in various hotels in the Boothbay and Florida areas. She was an assistant manager for the Lancaster Motor Inn for 16 years. She was a member of the UFW and American Legion.
She was predeceased by her parents, Virginia Clark Turner and step-father, Arnold Turner; first husband, Frederick Vernon Dobson in 1973; and second husband, Ralph Pearce in 1976.
Her family members include Kenneth F. Dobson Sr. and wife Barbara of Jefferson, N.H.; Vernon Dobson and wife Elizabeth of Alna, Dareleen Dobson of East Boothbay and Frederick V. Dobson Jr. of Nobleboro; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service 1 p.m., Tues., Nov. 29 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Boothbay Harbor.
