Joel Cyr, 76, long time resident of Dresden, passed away unexpectedly May 25 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in Van Buren on April 11, 1935, a son of Come and Ida Lévesque Cyr.
Joel served four years in the US Air Force. He was communicant of St. Joseph Church in St. Michael Parish in Gardiner.
His beloved wife of 43 years, Valentia E. Cyr predeceased him in April of 2010.
He is survived by a sister and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial May 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gardiner. Burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Dresden.
