John B. Markewich, 84, lifelong resident of Nashua, N.H., died at his home at Nashua Crossing on Aug. 14. He spent many summers in Jefferson.
He was born in Nashua, N.H. on Oct. 25, 1926, a son of the late John and Josephine (Stuczynski) Markewich.
Mr. Markewich was the widower of Gloria J. (Carter) Markewich.
He was employed with Hampshire Manufacturing in Nashua as a plastic cutter for 22 years. Following his retirement from Hampshire Manufacturing he was employed as a machine assembler for Rockwell International and retired from them in 1985.
He was an active supporter of the Jefferson Fire Department.
Fraternally, he was a member of Ancient York Lodge #89 in Nashua, the Scottish Rite Bodies, NH Consistory 32nd Degree, Valley of Nashua and the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory. He was a former member of the Polish-American Club. He liked to travel and enjoyed shrimping in Louisiana.
He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, his family includes his daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Ronald Germano of Nashua, N.H.; grandson, Jared Germano of Nashua, N.H.; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Bernice Markewich of Nashua, N.H.; sisters and brother-in-law, Constance Hamel of Nashua, N.H. and Victoria and Robert Poliquin of Palm Bay, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 18 at the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock St., Nashua, N.H. Funeral service in his honor 10 a.m., Fri., Aug. 19 at the Davis Funeral Home. Interment prayers and burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
