John F. “JJ” Emerson, Jr., 31, of Cushing, passed away after a brief illness on Nov. 20 at his home. He was born on Sept. 30, 1986 in Rockport to John F. Emerson Sr. and Darlene Benner Griesenbrock.
JJ grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools. He graduated in the Class of 2005 from Medomak Valley High School.
He loved hunting, fishing and trapping, pretty much everything to do with the outdoors. He was great at grilling and cooking. JJ enjoyed the car racing at Wiscasset Speedway. He was a class clown, always funny. He was a big supporter of his family and friends. JJ had a big heart and loved his wife and son very much. He called his grandmother every day. He was clear spoken, a straight shooter but genuine and sincere. JJ also loved animals very much.
He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Francis Emerson.
JJ is survived by wife Alisha Mills-Emerson of Cushing; mother, Darlene Griesenbrock and husband Jan of Waldoboro; father, John F. Emerson Sr. of Waldoboro; son, Trapper John Mills-Emerson of Cushing; sister, Katie Emerson of Waldoboro; maternal grandparents, Robert Benner of Waldoboro, and Charlene Benner of Brunswick; and paternal grandmother, Hilda Emerson of Belmont.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Mon., Nov. 27 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sun., Nov. 26 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
