John Martin Broomall, 90, passed away Feb. 11 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
John was a longtime resident of West Chester, Penn., where he was active in country life, and taking care of horses and sheep.
He worked at Burroughs Corporation, in Paoli, Penn. as an electrical engineer, and worked on many defense and space computer applications. He moved to Pemaquid when he retired.
John was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and a veteran. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he saw active duty in the Atlantic aboard the USS Cincinnati. He was discharged as Lieutenant from the Naval Reserve.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jane (Messenger) Broomall; and daughters, Sally Broomall, and Susan (Broomall) Wrigley.
He is survived by his daughter, Anne (Broomall) Wiegle of Birdsboro, Penn.; grandsons, Charles R. Wiegle and wife Donna of Swan’s Island, and Philip E. Wiegle of Pottstown, Penn.; granddaughter, Jennifer (Broomall) Stevens and husband Raymond; and great-grandsons, Jacob and Cooper, all of Pemaquid.
