John Maurice Day, 60, of Brunswick, formerly of Boothbay Harbor, died April 22 at Mid Coast Hospital in the I.C.U., after a period of declining health.
He was born at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor on July 11, 1950 to William and Mary Stone Day. He grew up in Boothbay Harbor and graduated from Boothbay Region High School and Andover College in Massachusetts, with high honors.
He was very active in theatre arts in high school and college and worked at the Boothbay Playhouse.
After moving to Brunswick he always enjoyed coming down on holidays for family dinners.
He loved watching television, writing poems on the computer, playing board games and puzzles. He also loved sports and especially loved going to the Sea Dogs’ games and always went to see Boothbay play basketball tournaments.
He was predeceased by his father, William Day.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Hull of Boothbay Harbor; stepfather, Charlie Hull of Boothbay Harbor; sister, Ruthie Jackimovicz and husband Joe of Boothbay; nephews, Clint Lewis of Virginia and Justin Lewis of Boothbay; aunts, Margaret Hyson and husband Rendall of Boothbay Harbor and Anna Smith and husband Bill of Tennessee; stepsister, Judy Marshall of Southport; many cousins; and the Fredrickson family of Brunswick, who were very close to John over the years.

Interment 10 a.m., Thurs., May 5 at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Civic Center Dr., Augusta.
