John N. Gallagher, 73, of Nobleboro, passed away quietly at his home on Dec 4.
He was born in Lewiston on July 29, 1934, the son of William W. and Sarah F. Gallagher.
He grew up in Norway, and was educated in Norway schools. He was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono.
He was an Air Force veteran, with duty stations in Colorado, Florida, Europe and North Africa.
He married the former Shirley G. Robinson of Gorham on Dec. 26, 1959.
He worked in various management positions for Minneapolis Honeywell, Sylvania Electric and General Telephone and Electronics. He retired in 1990 and enjoyed his family, cottage and loved piloting his own plane.
He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gallagher of Nobleboro; children, Sheila A. Gallagher of Gorham, James Gallagher and wife Kristen of Fairhaven, Mich., and John (Jack) W. Gallagher and wife Stephanie of Nobleboro; granddaughters, Courtney and Tegan; and grandson, Aidan.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
