John Soler, Jr., 92, passed away on July 18 at the Gregory Wing of St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor.
He was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Rivervale, N.J., a son of John Soler, Sr. and Louise Jordan Soler.
He was a ship fitter and welder for Bath Iron Works for many years.
He was a member of Bayview Lodge #196 for 50 years. He was also involved in the Senior Citizens group for many years. He was one of the trustees who helped form the East Boothbay Water District.
He enjoyed camping and gardening.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Armondo Soler; first wife, Mary Soler; and second wife, Juanita Drummond Soler.
He is survived by three sons, Donald Soler of East Boothbay, Raymond Soler of East Boothbay, and Gary Soler of Salem, Conn.; five stepchildren; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and companion, Phyllis Patton of Damariscotta.
Masonic service by Bayview Lodge 11 a.m., Tues., July 24 at Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to Bayview Masonic Lodge or Boothbay Harbor United Methodist Church.
