Jonathan D. Strout, 59, of Waldoboro, passed away Jan. 7.
Jon was born Dec. 19, 1953, the oldest of five boys, to Gilbert and Bertha Strout at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He graduated from Medomak Valley High School and also attended University of Maine at Presque Isle. During his school years, basketball was definitely one of his highlights.
His children, Samuel and Jacob Strout, were truly the enjoyments of his life. Jon enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. He also loved to tell stories. His last employment was with Great Eastern Mussel until it closed.
Jon had many different nicknames but his favorite was “Jiggin Jon.” That nickname was used by two very special toddlers, Zac and Kyle Curtis. They adored Jon and were like grandchildren to “Jiggin.”
Jon was predeceased by his mother and father; and youngest son, Jacob.
Jon is survived by his son, Samuel and wife Jessica Strout; special friend and mother of his children, Paulette Strout; brothers, Fred Strout and Susie, Dave Strout and Pam, Mark and Kathy Strout, and Paul Strout; best friend, Gary Miller; and several nieces and nephews, Mike and Meg Strout, Barrett Strout, Warren Strout, and Meagan and Elizabeth Strout.
If you would like to make donations for Jon’s memorial, they may be sent to Samuel Strout, 193 Kalers Corner Rd., Waldoboro 04572.
Celebration of life Jan. 19 at Uncle Paul’s house in Warren.
We know there are many more fond memories of Jon. Those that know him, we know will love and cherish every memory and special moments they had with him.
