Jordan Edward Dickinson, 36, died Jan. 12 in Boothbay Harbor. Born April 16, 1978 in Highland Park, Ill. to Richard and Pandora (Cullen) Dickinson, Jordan grew up and attended schools in Lake Forest, Ill, Summit, N.J., and Pennington, N.J.
Jordan played on the Summit High School State Football Championship team his sophomore year and continued playing football at Pennington Prep in Pennington, N.J. He then attended Lynchburg College in Virginia to pursue a degree in education.
He was a member of the Insulators & Asbestos Workers Union, Local #14 in Philadelphia working in the same industry as his father, prior to moving to Maine in 2011.
Jordan was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved playing football and lacrosse. He was very outgoing and had the ability to make friends quickly. He was intelligent, gregarious, loved to read and was very devoted to his two sons.
He is survived by his parents, Rick and Pandora Dickinson of Southport; children, Jordan Joseph and Logan Carner Dickinson of Raritan, N.J.; brother, Carner Dickinson of Gardiner, and grandparents Matti and Edward Patanian of West Sand Lake, N.Y. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A gathering to celebrate Jordan’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay.
Rev. Kit Sherrill will officiate. A celebration will follow at the home of Pandy and Rick at 38 Beacon Hill Road, Southport.
A second gathering will be held at the Zion’s United Church of Christ in Taborton, N.Y. at 2 p. m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery in West Sand Lake, N.Y. and then a celebration at The Towne Tavern in Sand Lake, N.Y. for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to perform random acts of kindness in Jordan’s memory and contribute to the Southport Library, P.O. Box 148 Southport, 04576, in Jordan’s name.
