Joshua J. Thornton, 27, of Augusta, formerly of Jefferson, died unexpectedly March 20 at his home. He was born in Augusta on Oct. 7, 1981 a son of John R. Thornton and Diana L. (McGuire) Spears.
Mr. Thornton was formerly employed by John Healy Construction.
Joshua lived his life fast and furious. He recently had been working very hard at changing his life for the better to ensure that his wife and children had a better husband and father. He adored and loved his wife with all his heart, he also loved his children and his New York Yankees.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Harriet (Hotham) Thornton.
Mr. Thornton is survived by his wife, Meaghan E. (Hayden) Thornton of Augusta; three daughters, Hayden-Larynn Thornton of Augusta, Alexis Pelletier of St. Francis and Jasmyne Thornton of Litchfield; son, Damien Thornton of Ft. Story, Va.; parents, John R. Thornton and wife Tara of Litchfield, and Diana L. (McGuire) Spears and husband Darrell of Jefferson; maternal grandparents, William H. and Lauretta V. (Gilbert) McGuire of Augusta; brother, Anthony W. Thornton and wife Nikki of Thomaston; step-sister, Lisa Spears of Randolph; two favorite nieces, Keara Saulnier and Hannah Lapinski; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours 9-11 a.m., Thurs., March 26 at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joanne Hilton officiating.
