Joshua Scott Peaslee, 27, of Somerville, died unexpectedly Oct. 19 at his home.
He was born in Glen Cove, on March 10, 1979, the son of Larry and Patricia (Schmidt) Peaslee.
Joshua attended Somerville Elementary School and graduated from Erskine Academy in 1997.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
Joshua enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Samantha; his family and friends; and especially his best friend, his Dad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and will always be remembered by his family for his big smile and his hats.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Patricia Peaslee of Somerville; daughter, Samantha Rae Peaslee; sister, Heather Carr and husband David of Augusta; brothers, Guy Peaslee and wife Jan of Peru, Steven Peaslee and wife Kami of Wiscasset, Keith Peaslee and companion Tonya Gifford of Albion, and Jesse Peaslee of Wiscasset; fiancée, Amy Violette of Whitefield; grandparents, Brian Knowles and wife Sheila of Manchester, and Jack Schmidt of New Jersey; uncle, Kenneth Schmidt of Lanoka Harbor, N.J.; nieces and nephews, Derek Farnsworth, Keith Michael Peaslee II, Tyler Isaac Carr and Annie Louise Carr; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Tues., Oct. 24 at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta, where visiting will be held 11 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will be at a later date in Sand Hill Cemetery, Somerville.
