Joyce Porter Parsons, 88, of Damariscotta, passed away July 12 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor. Joyce was born on Dec. 16, 1921 to Hazel Levensaler Porter. She was a graduate of Waldoboro High School. She married Dr. Neil Parsons on Jan. 5, 1944.
Joyce was very dedicated to her family, she enjoyed the outdoors, reading, bridge tournaments, golfing, musical plays, traveling and living on the water.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Neil Parsons in 1983 and grandson Mark Munroe in 2007.
Survivors include daughter, Rebecca Parsons and partner Richard Guislin of Damariscotta; son, Lee Parsons of Nobleboro; granddaughter, Lori Munroe Cole and husband Raymond of Newcastle; grandsons, Adam Nelson of Portland and Brendan Parsons of Nobleboro; granddaughter, Thai Lien Parsons of Nobleboro; great-granddaughter, Neila Cole of Newcastle; and great-grandsons, George Cole of Newcastle and Westleigh Munroe of Whitefield.
Friends and family are welcomed to join in a graveside service, 12 p.m., Sat., July 17 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Newcastle.
