Judith A. Hebert, 65, of Wiscasset, died of complications with leukemia Feb. 16 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Judi was born in Lewiston on May 14, 1947, the daughter of Edward A. and Lucille Bolduc Harkins. She attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1965. She graduated from Chandler Institute in Boston, Mass. in 1967.
On Dec. 27, 1970 she married Denis B. Hebert at the Parker Head Congregational Church in Phippsburg after digging out from the record-setting blizzard of 1970. The couple then lived in Illinois while Denis completed college, before eventually returning to New England several years later with their eldest daughter in tow.
In 1983 they moved to Wiscasset to raise their daughters. Judi enjoyed working in real estate and banking, in addition to taking care of her family. She was a member of the Wiscasset Female Charitable Society and enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. Judi retired from The First National Bank of Damariscotta on Dec. 31, 2012.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Denis B. Hebert of Wiscasset; daughters, Carrie Moore and husband Todd of East Lyme, Conn., and Laura Hebert and wife Mara Glatzel of Truro, Mass.; grandchildren, Alexander and Mackenzie Moore; brother, Donald Harkins and wife Karen of Manchester, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Judi’s life will be held in May. Judi will be buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath, where Denis worked for many years.
