Judith Hayden Seredynski, 75, of Bristol, passed away on July 2 in hospice care, after a two-and-a-half year battle with cancer. Judy was born in Hartford, Conn. on March 5, 1939 to Catherine and John Hayden.
She was a graduate of Windsor High School, received her bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Conn., a master’s degree in Library Science at Central Connecticut State College, and post-master’s certification in Library Science at The University of Connecticut. She married John Seredynski on Aug. 8, 1964.
Judy worked for almost 20 years as a middle school librarian in Hebron, Conn., and was a ferocious reader and avid birder. A skilled quilter and knitter, she was a member of the Clamshell Quilters and the Bristol Library knitting group.
Judy loved to sing, and was most recently a member of the St. Cecilia Chamber Choir. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she was a spectacular “Nana.”
Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, John; sons, Tom and wife Carol of Hebron, Conn., and Paul and wife Michelle of Livonia, Mich.; daughter, Maryanne of Westport Island; brother, John Hayden of Salt Lake City; and grandchildren, Brian, Amy, and Maren.
