Judy G. Donnellon, of Damariscotta, died after a brief illness with cancer on Nov. 28 at her home, surrounded by her family who cared for her in her final days.
She was the daughter of Douglas and Doris (Fish) Mann and was born in Greenfield, Mass. in 1941.
She was a graduate of Boston University and Framingham State College. At the time of her death she was employed by Sweetser in Brunswick, providing supervision to case managers who provide support and advocacy to people with severe mental illness. She had also been employed by the Dept. of Health and Human Services providing services to people with developmental disabilities.
Judy will be remembered as a compassionate advocate for people with disabilities. She had semi-retired in July and was looking forward to enjoying her home, gardening and reading.
She leaves her life partner, Cecilia Leland of Damariscotta; son, Jeffrey Donnellon and partner Krissy Jordan of Augusta; brother, William Bruce Mann and wife Mary of Hillsboro, N.H.; brother, Roscoe (Rocky) Mann and wife Carol Shutt of Bar Harbor; several nephews and nieces; and her partner’s children, Michael, Stephen, Monica and Daniel Leland. Other children in the family who were important to her were her partner’s grandchildren and Krissy’s sons.
A private memorial service will be held for family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Sweetser Peer Center, Alex Vequilla, Coordinator, 174 Mere Point Rd., Brunswick, ME 04011. The donations will be used in behalf of people who live with mental illness.
